The Soul of New Orleans is an upcoming (currently in preprod) independent non-fiction short that aims to capture the essence of the music in the streets of New Orleans.Walking through the streets of the city, music is abundant. Traditional jazz, brass ensembles, phenomenal singers, steel guitars and washboards paint the rather colorful city with a unique style from the early 20th century that has yet to be depicted in any documentary of its form.In The Soul of New Orleans two musicians and a photographer stroll the streets of French Quartet in look for these people and their stories in 2025.
This non-professional approach aims to highlight the real actors of New Orleans' musical traditions - the indie musicians. Our goal is to reveal the raw, authentic sound of New Orleans, an untold musical treasure that remains hidden until one experiences it themselves.
